Community Division


The 2024 Community Theatre FESTIVAL will be held in:

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 9th

If more than three shows are presented, the festival will be extended to Friday, November 8.

As part of the Annual Convention, the Festival will be held on Saturday, November 9th at the Stevenson Auditorium in the Orangeburg City Hall.  There will be shows from the Community Theatre division, as well as panel discussions and networking, time to socialize and gather information to improve and enrich community theatre companies.

The Community Theatre Division of SCTA is committed to connecting, creating, and cultivating community theatre across our beautiful state. We are artists sharpening each other and supporting all the hard work that goes into community theatre. MEET YOUR DIVISION LEADERSHIP

Anna Brown (Community Division Chair) earned a BS in Speech Pedagogy and an MA in Theatre Arts, both from Bob Jones University. In addition to her background in acting and directing, Anna has taught speech and theatre classes ranging from preschool to college levels. Over the years, she has applied her theatre experience in a variety of fields, including digital education and business administration. Anna is passionate about supporting local theatre and has performed in numerous productions around the Upstate including The Sound of Music (SCCT), POUF! (Centre Stage), and Annie Get Your Gun  (Mill Town Players). She particularly enjoys Shakespeare, with a few of her favorite roles including Falstaff (Henry IV), the Fool (King Lear), and Lucio (Measure for Measure). After living in Maryland, Romania, North Carolina, and New Hampshire, Anna calls Greenville, SC home. When she's not in rehearsal, Anna enjoys gardening, collecting books for her library, and befriending the neighborhood cats.
